Goodman to build largest industrial facility in Kraków with a total area of 22,500 m² (PL)

Goodman has commenced construction of a second warehouse at Kraków Airport Logistics Centre.

The facility has been 75% leased by Valeo Service Eastern Europe, a subsidiary of French industrial group, Valeo which specializes in the design, production and sale of automotive parts, integrated systems and modules. Valeo will rent 16,700 m² of warehouse space and an additional 700 m² of office space.

The first warehouse has been 100% leased. The last available 3,500 m² unit at the first warehouse has been leased to logistics operator KMC Services.

"With the construction of the first warehouse at Kraków now completed and fully leased, we have commenced construction of a second, larger facility in response to the strong customer demand for quality warehouse space. We estimate the value of the overall project at between €100 and €120 million," said Blazej Ciesielczak, Goodman Country Manager for Poland.

Construction of the 22,500-m² facility began in May and completion is scheduled for early October 2011.

In Poland, Valeo cooperates with a network of 40 authorized distributors and a network of 58 auto repair locations, which also sell Valeo spare parts. Valeo has been present in Poland since 1996. It now has five group plants operating in Poland, two of them in Skawina, just 17 km from Goodman's Kraków facility.

"We are delighted that work is underway on our new warehouse. Our partnership with Goodman will provide us with a state-of-the-art warehouse and office facility and we look forward to moving to the Kraków Airport Logistics Centre later this year," said Anna Ossowska, Supply Chain Manager, Valeo Wipers System Skawina, Poland.
