Goodman strengthens relationship with DB Schenker developing a cross-dock facility in Strasbourg (FR)

Goodman, a leading global owner, developer and manager of industrial real estate, is developing a new 8,800 m² cross-dock facility for DB Schenker at the Port of Strasbourg in eastern France. The new facility will allow DB Schenker to strengthen its activities in the Port of Strasbourg.
As a European road transport leader, actively involved in all logistics, maritime and air freight businesses, DB Schenker connects all important economic regions across forty European countries through a complex network of regularly scheduled services. In metropolitan France and in its overseas territories, the logistics provider employs approximately 6,000 people in 100 locations.
This new facility will enable the consolidation of DB Schenker’s current operations in three buildings, located across the Strasbourg area. The property will feature 72 docks, with 6,800 m² of warehouse space and a 2,000 m² office area. Furthermore, the site offers DB Schenker the possibility of expanding the distribution center by a further 3,700 m².
“The new modern facility being developed by Goodman will help us improve our operational efficiency,” said Philippe de Crécy, Chairman of the Board, DB Schenker France. “Goodman and DB Schenker have a longstanding partnership across several countries in Europe and around the world. This operation represents Goodman’s 15th property solution for us and we look forward to strengthening our relationship with this new development in the Port of Strasbourg.”
As part of its integrated own+develop+manage business model, Goodman will provide technical and operational property services support for the new facility. A key feature of this is Goodman’s property investment plan, a unique benefit Goodman provides to its customers, which ensures all its properties are maintained to the highest market standards.
This new facility in Strasbourg is Goodman’s first development for DB Schenker in France. DB Schenker is one of Goodman’s largest customers worldwide, with managed properties in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany and Poland, representing more than 372,000 sqm. The development with Goodman France follows a recent deal signed with DB Schenker for a logistics centre in Germany.
