The distribution center was developed by Goodman on part of its 310,000-m² site in Venlo, and will be sold to Stryker upon completion. The pre-committed development demonstrates Goodman's flexibility, expertise and ability to meet the individual needs of customers through the delivery of exceptional quality logistics space solutions for lease or sale.

The bespoke warehouse was designed to meet environmental as well as economic sustainability criteria, and will be one of the first buildings in the Netherlands to receive the internationally recognized BRE Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) sustainability certification with a 'Very Good' qualification.

Goodman provided the 7,934-m² tailor-made distribution center, with 1,392 m² of office space and a 1,195-m² mezzanine area as a turn key development for Stryker. It will serve as the distribution center for the Benelux, German and Austrian markets and will play a key role in Stryker's European distribution network. Goodman's logistics park is located at Venlo, which is halfway between Eindhoven and Dusseldorf and has been once again voted the number one logistics hotspot in the Netherlands. Goodman has further development land available at Venlo for pre-lease or pre-sale opportunities.

Goodman has worked closely with Stryker to bring the highest standards of sustainability to the warehouse at Venlo. Goodman helped Stryker to reduce long-term operating costs by making critical decisions in the design and construction phase that are in line with the BREEAM criteria. This ensured that Goodman delivered a sustainable and economically sound project on schedule.

"At Goodman, we understand that it is not enough to talk green we have to build green. That is why we are proud to have delivered one of the first BREEAM-certified buildings in the Netherlands. The qualification of this BREAAM assessment is "Very Good". This means that we reached one of the highest targets for this building and it will bring many benefits to Stryker in their day-to-day operation. Our own+develop+mange business model allows us to work with customers to build sustainable properties according to customers' individual needs and requirements. The warehouse at Venlo demonstrates our expertise and ability to deliver tailor made solutions for customers, with a very high BREEAM qualification within the agreed delivery time of the contract," said Ruud Weijmans Goodman's Country Manager for the Netherlands.
