Ghelamco's Crown Square awarded 'Best New Office Project of the Year' (PL)

The Central and Eastern European publication Eurobuild has presented Ghelamco Poland with the 'Best New Office Project of the Year' award. Ghelamco was awarded the price for its Crown Square office building in Warsaw, completed in April 2010.

The project comprises numerous modern technological solutions.

The Crown Square office building was constructed during the 2009 slowdown in the real estate market, when most developers were forced to abandon or delay their projects. Considering market demand, Ghelamco decided to complete Crown Square's construction. In addition, its ideal location near the city center and in the close proximity to the currently constructed Rondo Daszynskiego subway station
was a major asset. Upon its delivery in April 2010, Crown Square proved Ghelamco right and its 16,200 m² of modern office space was leased to prestigious tenants, including Nike, Oracle and GATX Poland.

"For us, this prestigious award is a great honor and our team is extremely proud of it," says Jeroen van der Toolen, Ghelamco Group's Managing Director for Central and Eastern Europe. "The Crown Square project is Ghelamco's third and most recent award winning facility within the Crown Investments building complex in Warsaw's Wola district.

"The other two buildings, Crown Point and Crown Tower, were awarded the Best Office Buildings of 2004 in the entire Central and Eastern Europe region," he adds. "The very fact that our work is appreciated by the most prominent experts motivates our entire team and strengthens us in our conviction to strive for building excellence in pursuit of maximum client satisfaction."

The project comprises numerous modern technological solutions, such as raised floors, advanced HVAC (air conditioning and ventilation) with a central air humidifying function and a BMS system. The Crown Square was the second Polish office building to be granted the leading European ecological certificate, BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method). The first building to be granted this prestigious certificate was another Ghelamco project, Trinity Park III.

The Eurobuild Awards are a unique initiative supported by well-known Polish real estate market professionals and experts. The competition aims to reward companies that have a competitive edge and that stand out in the industry, thus contributing to the development of the real estate sector in Poland.
