The German Tech Entrepreneurship Center (GTEC), Europe’s first private-sector open campus for technology, innovation and entrepreneurship is coming to the office complex Junghof in Frankfurt (Main). The expansion was made possible with the help of GTEC Partner Union Investment. With that, GTEC unlocks a second base in one of the most economically powerful regions of Europe. The current internationality of GTEC will continue in the “Main-Metropolis”, helping the growing Frankfurt startup scene to flourish alongside many big corporations, the hidden SME champions, and various academic institutions. That is the breeding ground on which GTEC creates interesting and relevant programmes under its proven motto “Inspire, Guide, Grow”, which will promote entrepreneurship and symbiotic cooperations between the established corporations and the startup newcomers in the Frankfurt area.

To ensure the high level of programmes at the new location, GTEC expanded its advisory board. The new members are the Norwegian business philosopher Anders Indset; business angel and investor, Johannes Peschko; and Oliver Clasen, banker at heart, today mentor and management consultant. All three have the local contacts and the international network to make the diverse startup programmes and event formats such as “Open Lectures” and Meetups possible. To familiarize the numerous classic companies in the region with the topics of entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship, GTEC will also offer Executive Education Masterclasses in Frankfurt.

Thanks to the support of Tishman Speyer, GTEC resides at Junghof in the heart of the city. It is planned that the building will be a home to innovative and international startups, as well as to the innovation departments of several corporations created to further develop their ideas with support of the GTEC network of mentors and investors. Financed by the GTEC Partners, startups that take part in the GTEC programmes get all the benefits for free.

Benjamin Rohé Founder and Managing Director GTEC said: “We are very happy to now be able to expand our unique offering outside of Berlin, as I am sure that GTEC will enrich the Frankfurt scene. Last but not least, thanks to the prime location in the heart of Frankfurt, GTEC will be a highly-demanded place to go to for Frankfurt’s startups, corporations, universities and the public that is interested in entrepreneurship. We already have the first applications from national and international startups to join our Frankfurt base
