Gazeley signs deal with John Lewis for second warehouse at Magna Park Milton Keynes (UK)

Gazeley, developer of logistics warehouses and distribution parks, has today announced a deal to develop a 675,000 ft² (approx. 62,709 m²) build-to-suit warehouse for leading retailer, John Lewis.

The building will be located adjacent to John Lewis’s existing 650,000 ft² (approx. 60387 m²) distribution center at Magna Park Milton Keynes, which Gazeley completed in August 2007. The facility will be used to further support the retailer’s distribution of products to its shops across the UK, as well as support the rapid growth of its online business.

The distribution center is due for completion later this year with the John Lewis fit out taking place thereafter.

Alex Verbeek, UK Country Director, Gazeley, said: “This deal further cements our relationship with one of the country’s leading retailers and we’re delighted to be working with John Lewis again as it looks to expand its distribution operations. The building has been designed to match the company’s specific requirements and with planning consent already in place, we are on track to deliver on time and on budget.

Magna Park Milton Keynes consists of 200 acres and has planning consent in place for 4.4 million ft² (approx. 371,612 m²) It is designed to provide a high quality business environment for modern distribution and production companies. Magna Park Milton Keynes is already home to the distribution centers of leading UK retailers including John Lewis and River Island, and is currently developing a new 265,000 ft² (approx. 24619 m²) manufacturing and distribution facility for leading soft drinks manufacturer AG Barr scheduled for completion 15th April 2013.
