Gazeley secures deal for a 30,000 m² build-to-suit warehouse in Germany (DE)

Gazeley a leading global supplier of logistics warehouses and distribution parks has signed a major deal with logistics service provider, Rigterink, to develop a new build-to-suit warehouse close to Jena in Germany. As specialists in food logistics, Rigterink will use the 30,000 m² warehouse for storing, repackaging and distributing products for some of the world's most recognized food brands.

Mr Bernd Rigterink, Director of the Rigterink Logistikgruppe said that the excellent location of the site and the state-of-the-art design of the warehouse were the main reasons for awarding the contract to Gazeley. The site is located directly off the major east-west A4 motorway and close to the Hermsdorfer Kreuz, a crossing with the A9 north-south motorway.

"We are very pleased to announce the start of this major project at one of Germany's up and coming logistic hubs," said Ingo Steves, Director at Gazeley Germany. "Due to its strategic location and the growing number of new businesses that are moving to the area, this site offers excellent conditions for a distribution center."

The building will be designed to achieve the sustainable 'Silver Certificate' of the German DGNB (Sustainable Building Council).
