Gazeley on track to complete latest build-to-suit at Magna Park Kassel (DE)

Gazeley, a leading global supplier of logistics warehouses and distribution parks, has announced that its new build-to-suit-project in Magna Park Kassel, is on target to be completed by January 2012, meaning a total construction time of just seven months.

The 50,000-m² warehouse, which is located on a 26 acre site close to the A7 motorway, will become the main storage and distribution center for SMA, a world leading manufacturer of solar components.

The warehouse will comprise of five fire compartments spanning a length of 450 m, a width of 108 m and also incorporate a number of sustainable elements. It is aiming to achieve the 'Silver Standard' of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).

Last week numerous representatives from the regional authority joined Gazeley and contractor GSE at the site to celebrate the progress of the build.

In his speech the District President Dr. Walter Lübcke emphasized the importance of this project for the logistics cluster of Northern Hessen as a whole. He said that from the offset Gazeley had recognized the logistics potential of the Kassel area and had contributed to the tremendous upswing of this area.

Ingo Steves, Country Director Gazeley Germany, said he was very pleased with the progress of the project. This development is the fifth building by Gazeley at Magna Park Kassel, which makes it the biggest and most successful Gazeley Magna Park across continental Europe.
