Gazeley Germany starts work on 25,000 m² warehouse at G. Park Stuttgart (DE)

Gazeley, a leading global developer of logistics warehouses and distribution parks, this week commenced construction on a 25,000 m² logistics facility at G. Park Stuttgart-North. Gazeley marked the start of construction at a groundbreaking ceremony, where more than 40 guests including representatives from the local council, celebrated the symbolic first breaking of the ground at the site.

Construction on the site follows a pre-let that has been agreed by Mercedes-AMG GmbH, the company responsible for the engineering, manufacturing and customization of Mercedes vehicles, for more than half of the building. Fit out of the facility is expected to start in spring 2013.

Pat McGillycuddy, Chief Executive Officer at Gazeley, said: "The groundbreaking event marks an important milestone in the growth of G. Park Stuttgart. We're delighted to be working with such a world famous brand and we will be working closely with them over the coming months to deliver a building that meets their exact needs."

Ingo Steves, Director at Gazeley Germany, added: "The strategic location of this site, in the attractive region of Stuttgart, has been a key factor in agreeing a deal with Mercedes-AMG. Getting to the building stage has been a real team effort and we've been delighted with the response from the local community towards this new facility."

Speeches were given by the mayor of Marbach, Mr Herbert Pötzsch and Markus Müller of general contractor GSE.
