Franz Herrlein appointed Deputy Chief Integration Officer of HVB (DE)

Franz J. Herrlein (38) will join the new Management Committee of UniCredit and HVB as Deputy Chief Integration Officer. In this position, Herrlein will be the deputy of Chief Integration Officer Andrea Moneta. He will assume his new responsibility upon the consummation of the combination of the two banks.

Franz J. Herrlein has held the position of Division Director since March this year, performing the function of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Corporate Center of HVB Group and for the entities of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the Chief Risk Officer (CRO). In addition, he has performed the function of Group Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) as Head of Division since August 2002. Herrlein manages the corporate purchasing activities of HVB Group with centers of competence in Germany, Austria and Poland.

Previously, Mr. Herrlein worked as a Senior Manager for Boston Consulting Group in Munich and Milan from early 1998. After graduating in business administration at Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main, Herrlein started his career as a trainee at Bayerische Landesbank. In 1995, he took up a position in the risk management organization of Bayerische Vereinsbank.
