Former Swiss Ambassador Dr. Thomas Borer appointed to CORESTATE Advisory Board (CH)

Former Swiss Ambassador to Germany Dr. Thomas Borer, J.D., will join the Swiss real estate investor CORESTATE as at June 1, 2010. As Member of the Advisory Board, he will support the company in the area of acquiring and managing institutional investors, particularly in German-speaking regions.

"In the coming two years, we expect to see a refinancing gap on the order of €100 billion opening up in the European real estate economy. Dr. Borer is superbly positioned to bring his expertise and his viable network to bear on this development in order to kept expanding our position in the German-speaking countries," said Ralph Winter, Founder of CORESTATE Capital AG.

Between 1987 and 2002, Dr. Borer was active in the Swiss Diplomatic Service, most recently as Ambassador to Germany. Since then, he held a variety of European and international consultancy and advisory board mandates as independent entrepreneur, specialising in the representation of strategic corporate interests as well as in the real estate sector. Born in Basel in 1957, he is the father of two children.
