The Lord Mayor of Essen Dr. Wolfgang Reiniger has laid the first stone for the new shopping magnet "Limbecker Platz Essen" on 13 September 2006. DIFA and ECE are the developers of the €300 mln project in the heart of innercity Essen.

Work is progressing according to plan. After the opening of the first part in spring 2008, approx. 105 shops, and after total delivery in fall 2009 another 95 shops, on approx. 70,000 m², spread over three floors, will offer an innovative shopping experience.

Already more than 60% of the retail space is let. The project partners are counting on approx. 50,000 m² visitors each day, and will have the use of 2,000 parking spaces.
