First shopping center in southern Serbia begins leasing (RS)

The first shopping center in the whole of southern Serbia, Interspeed Shopping Center in the area of Presevo, has just begun leasing retail units ahead of a beginning of the summer 2008 opening. Interspeed Shopping Center will have a total area of 19,000 m² and a retail area of 12,268 m² with 150 units. It will feature not only a supermarket, fashion stores, electronics stores, cafes and restaurants and a gas station but a casino too. It will represent a completely new concept of shopping and entertainment in the region. Colliers International Serbia is the leasing agent.

Interspeed Shopping Center will be placed on one of the main traffic arteries in Southeast Europe, on the main route from Europe to Asia, with approximately four million people per year and nearly 200,000 trucks passing, according to official figures.

Jovica Jakovac, General Manager of Colliers International Serbia, said, "We're very excited to be working on the first shopping center in the region with our client Interspeed. We look forward to bringing some big-name retailers to the area."

Slavisa Potezica, of Interspeed, added, "There is huge retailing potential here with a catchment area of 165,000 and four million people passing by every year. We think this shopping center has every chance of being an enormous success."
