First hotel in the historic warehouse district of Hamburg (DE)

The first hotel in the old warehouse district of Hamburg will open in summer 2013.

HHLA Real estate and the hotel association Althoff Cologne will realize a four-star hotel in the former coffee exchange. The operator contract was negotiated by the real estate consulting company STIWA Hotel Valuation & Consulting GmbH.

Based on a feasibility study, which was developed in cooperation with STIWA, a sustainable usage and further development of the former coffee exchange will be realized in this listed ensemble in the warehouse district. The planning for the four-star hotel from the young hotel brand 'Ameron', includes 192 rooms and suites, one bar, a spa area, an additional restaurant and venues. Start of construction is planned for spring 2012.

As owner and developer of the warehouse district HHLA real estate had planned to build a hotel in this area for a couple of years.

"The fresh and trend-setting Ameron brand moving into the quarter harmonizes perfectly with the gentle development of the warehouse district into an urban quarter over the last few years," adds Thomas Kuhlmann, Head of Real Estate.
