Barceló Hotels & Resorts and the FADESA Group open their first hotel in Morocco this evening: the Barceló Casablanca. It is the ninth establishment to be opened by these two companies after they signed their strategic alliance in February 2004.
The opening ceremony will be presided over by the Moroccan Minister of Tourism, Adil DOUIRI, accompanied by the presidents of FADESA and Barceló, Manuel Jove and Simón Pedro Barceló, respectively, along with other Moroccan authorities and personalities, among whom we can mention the Walli, Mohammed EL KABBAJ and the Mayor of Casablanca, Omar BAHRAOUI.
With an investment of almost 10 million Euros, it is an urban 4-star hotel which offers 85 rooms distributed over 14 floors, which will be commercialised under the exclusive trade name Barceló Premium. The Barceló Casablanca is situated right on the Boulevard DAnfa, one of the citys main boulevards, which has become the commercial and financial centre of Casablanca. The hotel has a Business Centre, buffet restaurant, tearoom, snack bar, social room, etc. Along these lines, as a result of its services, its privileged situation and its modern architecture, which combines slate, glass and white constructions characteristic of Morocco, the Barceló Casablanca Hotel is destined to become a reference point in the city.
Opening soon
Next year, FADESA and Barceló will open their second establishment in Morocco. The Barceló Saïdia Beach Resort, a 5-star hotel which will be part of the resort FADESA is promoting on the Moroccan Mediterranean coast. The establishment will offer 600 rooms and will have three swimming pools, paddle and tennis courts, mini-golf course, firing range and a SPA & Fitness Club, among other services.
Strategic alliance
The strategic alliance between FADESA and Barceló Hotels & Resorts has the objective over the coming 8 years (until 2012) of reaching the figure of 5,000 rooms in 4 and 5-star hotels, with Spain and the Mediterranean region as the preferential areas of action. At present, both companies have nine establishments open: Barceló Cabo de Gata (Almeria), Barceló Aranjuez, Barceló Coruña, Barceló Marbella Golf, Barceló Jandía Playa (Fuerteventura), Barceló Jandía Golf (Fuerteventura), Barceló Jandía Mar (Fuerteventura), Barceló Isla Cristina (Huelva) and Barceló Casablanca (Morocco).
