Expert panel to focus on global economic outlook at CoreNet Global's Paris Summit (FR)

Further highlights of this month's CoreNet Global EMEA Summit (Paris, September 18-20) have now been confirmed by the organizers, including a special panel on the global economy and the return of the popular Pecha Kucha debate format.

Catherine Lubochinsky, Professor of Economics at University of Paris 2, will lead an expert panel, including Michael Zamora of Cisco Systems, Garry Pellett of Bank of New Zealand and Nigel Baker, past president of CoreNet Global's UK Chapter, to discuss perspectives on the global financial outlook in light of ongoing uncertainty.

The discussion, entitled 'The Global Economic Conversation', will focus on the latest market upheavals and the effects already being felt by corporate real estate markets around the world. For the first time this year, this special lunchtime session will also be broadcast live via CoreNet Global's Summit Connect to members all over the world.

Meanwhile, the Paris Summit will also host a second Pecha Kucha debate, this time addressing the motion: 'CoreNet Global will soon have no place in a fully connected world'.

Participants will each have 20 slides - and strictly 20 seconds per slide – to debate the future relevance of structured and formal membership organizations and conferences in a world that is changing due to social connections and impromptu relationships, connections, networks and work environments.

Speakers AGAINST the motion include Matthew Fanoe, Corporate Senior Director Real Estate & Facilities, Coca-Cola Refreshments and Oliver Jones, Partner, EC Harris LLP, while speakers FOR the motion include Andrew Mawson, Managing Director, Advanced Workplace Associates Ltd and Leon van Leersum, Partner, REDEPT. The Pecha Kucha will be chaired by Dr. James Bellini, Author, Presenter & Futurologist, and the audience will vote on the motion at the end of the session.

Other confirmed speakers include social media expert Euan Semple, and Lisa Spahn, facilitator and consultant from Disney Institute, while this year's summit wrap up will be delivered by Dr. James Bellini.

The CoreNet Global EMEA Summit, Paris will look at the global social changes that have led people to connect across cultures and continents on both a personal and corporate level, using new tools to form new alliances and expand their reach.

The event, entitled 'Social Dynamics: Connectivity, Creativity, Relationships' will explore how the world's 'connected culture' continues to evolve, and focus on the tools, knowledge and skills that Corporate Real Estate (CRE) professionals will need to keep pace with such change, across the c-suite, partners, clients, locations and the workplace.

Johnson Controls, Compass Group, Regus and BNP Paribas Real Estate are Platinum sponsors of the Paris Summit, with Gold sponsors CB Richard Ellis, Jones Lang LaSalle and Global Switch, and Silver sponsors including Steelcase, Qube Global Software, Eurocres, Ahrend and Procos Group.

The CoreNet Global EMEA Summit takes place Sunday 18 – Tuesday 20 September at Disney's Newport Bay Club, Paris. Registration details are available from the Summit website.
