Rzeszów Plaza and the hypermarket will be connected by a glass-covered passageway with a roof, in which retail space will also be provided. Consequently, the retail offering of both Rzeszów Plaza and the hypermarket will be significantly enhanced, and the customers will be able to move around the whole facility easily and comfortably.

As a result of the expansion and modernization of Rzeszów Plaza, its retail space will be increased to 19,500 m². There will be approximately 15 new stores, and additional 500 parking spaces in a new five-story car park (1,360 parking spaces in total, together with the hypermarket's car park). Work on the expansion started in February 2011 and the opening of the new part of Rzeszów Plaza is planned for October 2011. A total of €13 million has been invested in the expansion of Rzeszów Plaza.

"In response to the growing interest in Rzeszów Plaza shown by customers and tenants, we decided not only to expand and modernize our shopping center, but also to connect it to the adjacent hypermarket of the E.Leclerc chain by a glass-covered passageway with a roof.

"E.Leclerc is the most popular hypermarket in Rzeszów and this solution will enable us to combine the complementary offerings of Rzeszów Plaza and E.Leclerc, creating one convenient and even more attractive place where residents of Rzeszów can go shopping," said Richard Keen, Managing Director of Keen Property Partners Retail.

The expansion of Rzeszów Plaza will encompass the construction of two additional storys, a connection between the shopping center and the E.Leclerc hypermarket and the construction of a five-story car park on the site of the former Auto-Res salon.

The new areas will form a single, interconnected facility together with the current Rzeszów Plaza. The mall will be given a new facelift, including the façade and its interiors. After the expansion, the GLA of Rzeszów Plaza will amount to 19,500 m². With the car park currently shared with the E.Leclerc hypermarket, 1,360 parking spaces in total will be available to customers with cars.

The general contractor responsible for the expansion work is Agencja Fregata Sp. z o.o., based in Kolobrzeg. The new part of the shopping mall was designed by architects Artplan-Tomasz Orlowski from Rzeszów. The commercialization of the new retail space is underway. The companies responsible for the lease of the Rzeszów Plaza shopping center are CB Richard Ellis and Master Management Sp. z o.o.
