ECE starts constructions for Aquis Plaza in Aachen (DE)

Aquis Plaza in Aachen celebrates its topping out: Construction workers raised the topping-out wreath on the shell construction of the shopping gallery in Aachen's city center today. The interior construction work will start now; at the same time, the building of the façade will commence.
In May 2013, the project partners ECE and STRABAG Real Estate had broken the ground for the €290 million project. Approximately 130 shops on three levels are planned. The center has a sales area of approximately 29,200 m². The catchment area comprises 1.2 million inhabitants and encompasses regions in Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
Up to now, the very high leasing rate reflects the great interest of the retail sector in the city center project. Already 75% of the retail spaces at Aquis Plaza have currently been leased to renowned retailers. Besides national concepts, these also include international retailers, among them providers who will present their products in Germany or Aachen for the first time.
“We are certainly still interested in premium and innovative concepts from the region and also from neighboring countries and we appreciate any inquiry,” said Ole Grötzner, Leasing Manager at ECE.
Besides the two entrances on Adalberstrasse and Kaiserplatz, the center has a third additional entrance on Adalbertsberg. The center is ideally connected to public transportation. The bus stop "Kaiserplatz" is in the immediate vicinity. More than 20 bus lines stop here. Thus, it facilitates good accessibility from the entire catchment area.
