ECE sells hotel tower to Württembergische Immobilien (DE)

Hamburg-based ECE has sold its newly developed project to Württembergische Immobilien AG, a subsidiary of Württembergische Versicherung AG. ECE will remain responsible for the project as general coordinating contractor and will complete the construction of the property by 2015. The Motel One Group has been confirmed as tenant and will operate the hotel with 533 rooms for a time period of at least 25 years. In a forward funding process, the investor will finance the project development until its completion. HIH Hamburgische Immobilien Handlung has been consulting the investor through its internal fund initiator HIH Global Invest and will take over the asset management for the property.

The hotel building for Motel One is situated at the southern forecourt of the new Vienna Central Station, adjacent to the new main office of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) and comprises 18 stories with an overground gross floor area of approximately 17,500 m² and two sub-level floors. The hotel tower was designed according to plans of the Holzbauer & Partner Architectural Office in Vienna.

The hotel building is part of the overall project Vienna Central Station which is one of the most significant infrastructure and urban development projects in Austria with a size of 109 hectares. Besides the Motel One, ECE develops a modern office building with a rental area of 10,000 m². Furthermore, ECE was mandated by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) to carry out the planning optimization, the retail leasing, and the center management of BahnhofCity Wien Hauptbahnhof. The shopping center will provide space for approximately 115 shops on a sales area of around 20,000 m² and is scheduled to open its doors to visitors in fall 2014.
