ECE plans seventh shopping center in Poland (DE/PL)

ECE has announced that it wants to realize its seventh shopping center in Poland by the end of 2014. The construction of the center in Bydgoszcz, capital of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodeship and 140 km south of Gdansk, is expected to start in spring 2013. The investment volume amounts to around €170 million.

The shopping center will include around 180 specialist stores, alongside cafés and service outlets.

On a rental space of approx. 48,000 m² around 180 specialist stores, cafés and service outlets are planned. The shopping center will be at a prime location in the center of Bydgoszcz. A total of approx. 1,300 parking spaces are to be provided for customers.

The demolition permit for a former print shop on the premises was already granted in March 2011. The deconstruction of building stock of 185,000 m³ was completed at the beginning of 2012.

"The necessary environmental decision is currently being processed and we hope to receive it within a few months. In fall, we can then apply for the building permit," said Leszek Sikora, Head of Development at ECE Polska.

"ECE's success as well as the excellent cooperation with its tenants in other ECE properties all over Poland ensures great interest in the new center in Bydgoszcz. We want to start with the leasing process as of the middle of this year," said Rafal Pruba, Head of Department Leasing at ECE Polska.
