ECE has launched Milaneo in Stuttgart (DE)

One of the largest quarter developments in the country has entered the final stages of construction: The new shopping center Milaneo in Stuttgart has open its gates to visitors for the first time – six months ahead of schedule. On 43,000 m², the center comprises 200 specialist stores, 90 of which have come to Stuttgart for the first time.
The new Europaviertel is built on the site of a former freight train station, near Stuttgart Central Station and adjacent to the city center. Besides the Stadtbibliothek (city library) at Mailänder Platz, which was completed in 2011, Milaneo is the heart of the new quarter. The retail space and the underground parking garage were developed and realized by a partnership of ECE and STRABAG Real Estate.
By summer 2015, a hotel with 165 rooms, 415 apartments, and office areas with a gross floor area of 7,400 m² will be constructed on the floors above the center. Bayerische Hausbau is building the hotel and the offices. The project partners together invest more than €550 million in the complex project. The investor Hamburg Trust acquired a 78% share of the shopping center (including the underground parking garage).
It is one of the first quarter developments ever which was awarded with the gold pre-certificate of the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council). In 2013, Milaneo was awarded the prestigious “MIPIM Award” as “Best Futura Mega Project” on the real estate show in Cannes.
