ECE fund acquires Rosengårdcentret in Odense (DK)

The ECE European Prime Shopping Centre Fund acquired Rosengårdcentret in Odense (Funen), the second largest shopping center in Denmark, from private investors. Thus, ECE is becoming active in Scandinavia for the first time.

Rosengårdcentret, which was opened in 1971 and extended and modernized several times, provides an attractive branch and tenant mix on more than 100,000 m² leasable area and around 160 shops including a CinemaxX cinema and a fitness center.

Famous tenants include among others Føtex, H&M, Bolia, Deichmann, New Yorker, Nike Store, Sony Store, Toys’R’Us and Tommy Hilfiger. Rosengårdcentret is easily accessible for the surrounding catchment area comprising approximately 500,000 persons and offers 3,000 free parking spaces. Rosengårdcentret is one of the most established shopping centers in Denmark with approximately 7.5 million visitors annually. Takeover of management and leasing by ECE is to be realized by March 15, 2013. The existing Danish center management team will be taken over by ECE.

Alexander Otto, CEO of ECE: “I am delighted that ECE has taken its first step into Scandinavia with the takeover of the management company at Rosengårdcentret, which boasts a proven and established performance track record since its opening in 1971. We believe that the combination of the strong center management team’s local experience and ECE’s international know-how will create large synergies to further improve the customer experience at Rosengårdcentret.”
