EC Harris, the International Built Asset Consultancy, has been appointed by IMMOFINANZ Group, the Austrian property developer and investor, to manage the completion of the Maritimo Shopping Center in Constanta (110,000 m² gross floor area), a city 250 km east of the Romanian capital Bucharest.
The project will see EC Harris provide strategic leadership to the design, construction and cost management teams as well as overseeing coordination with all of the tenants who will eventually open up outlets within the center. EC Harris has also taken on the project management role to ensure that all parties work together effectively and that that they remain on target to complete the project by autumn 2011.
Mike Pearce, EC Harris said "The sheer scale of this project makes it an exciting challenge to take on. We look forward to helping to deliver one of the largest shopping complexes that will be opened this year in the whole of the wider Central and Eastern Europe region".
The retail development will be anchored by Auchan, who are part owners, and will include retail outlets from many major western brands and a multiplex cinema.
