DTZ: Czech Republic warehouse market off to a brisk start in 2011 (CZ)

One of the largest logistics complexes in the Czech Republic, ProLogis Park Prague-Jirny in Prague-East, has a new major tenant as of the beginning of the year – ROSA market s.r.o.

This well-established Czech company, which operates a network of some 150 stores and distribution of food and dry goods, has leased 10,000 m².

"In Jirny it will get a modern warehouse space in an ideal location from which it will distribute to its own retail stores and external customers," said Martin Šumera of the department of leasing of industrial property at international property consultants DTZ, which negotiated the transaction.

ROSA market s.r.o. is a purely Czech company with more than 1000 employees and four logistics centers in the Czech Republic. In addition to distributing food and dry goods, supplying school and company canteens, and distributing a selection of food products for bakeries, confectioneries and delicatessens, it also operates its own network of ENAPO retail food stores. For ROSA market, being a tenant in ProLogis Park Prague-Jirny is an impetus for further raising the standards of services and a significant step towards even better quality service for customers.

Currently ProLogis Park Prague-Jirny has a capacity of over 192,000 m² in six office buildings and warehouses. Thanks to the contract with the new tenant the vacancy rate has dropped to 7%. ROSA market s.r.o. has joined the ranks of tenants such as Globus, DHL, Toyota Tsusho and Thimm Obaly.

In the next phase ProLogis, will commence the construction of additional 22,350 m² build-to-suit (BTS) facility for Globus.

"Thanks to the modern design, the 10-meter clear height, the sufficient number of hydraulic ramps and direct access roads, and of course sanitary conditions, the distribution park in Jirny is also ideal for tenants from the food sector. We are very pleased that ROSA market will utilize the ideal location of ProLogis Park Prague-Jirny for its further expansion," added Marek Müller, Leasing Manager for ProLogis.
