Doughty Hanson opens office in Madrid (UK/ES)

Doughty Hanson & Co, one of the largest independent private equity firms in Europe, has opened an office in Madrid and announces two key appointments to develop its activities in Spain and Portugal.

Francisco Gutierrez Churtichaga (41) joins with immediate effect as Principal and Head of Private Equity, Madrid. He previously worked at JP Morgan Partners, originating and executing private equity investments in Spain. Prior to that, he worked at JP Morgan Capital and Retevision S.A. Barcelona.

Juan Barba Silvela (34) joins as Principal and Head of Real Estate, Madrid with effect from December 2006. He was formerly General Manager at Aareal Bank, Spain. Previously he worked for the Principal Finance Group in the United States and in Spain and before that at Arthur Andersen.
