Doughty Hanson & Co Real Estate ("Doughty Hanson"), one of Europe's largest and most successful real estate fund managers, has strengthened its senior investment team with the appointment of Anders Tägt as a Principal and head of its Nordic team.

Anders, who is based in the firm's Stockholm office, joins Doughty Hanson following seven years at Hypo Real Estate Bank International AG, where he served as a Senior Director in the bank's real estate structured finance and investment banking division and was responsible for a loan book of more than €3.5 billion.

Ander's extensive experience in Nordic real estate includes six years as head of Enskilda Property Funds at Enskilda Securities; seven years as Chief Executive Officer of Regnbågen Öster, a subsidiary of Regnbågen, a former listed Swedish property group; and four years at NCC, the publicly listed construction company.

As a Principal and head of the Nordic Region, Anders will help to develop Doughty Hanson's overall investment strategy in the Nordic Region and will originate and lead transactions in these markets.

Julian Gabriel, a Senior Principal at Doughty Hanson, commented: "We have known Anders for many years and have worked together on a number of highly successful investments. As one of the most experienced and well respected real estate professionals in the Nordic market, Anders' appointment is part of a continued strengthening of Doughty Hanson's pan-European presence. He will play a key role in coordinating our investment activity in the Nordic market, enabling us to capitalise on the significant investment opportunities we expect to see in the region in the coming years."

Anders Tägt added: "The next few years are set to be an interesting time for real estate investment in Europe and I believe that the Nordic region, in particular, continues to present attractive investment opportunities across all segments. Doughty Hanson's Real Estate team has an established reputation and successful investment track record in the Nordic market, having operated in the region for nearly ten years, and I look forward to bringing my experience and network to bear as part of the firm's growing European team."
