The extension is due to be completed by May 2012.

When new construction is completed as anticipated by May 2012, this leading shopping center will accommodate more than 100 retail units within a total of 35,000 m². The first phase of new construction will include a five-story parking garage, which will increase overall capacity to more than 1,300 lots. The second phase of construction will include upgrades to the existing mall.

Futurum, certainly the main shopping center for both the Hradec Kralove and Pardubice regions, is centrally located near city's main traffic circle with easy access to cars, public transportation and pedestrian traffic. Since its opening in 2000, the shopping center has enjoyed an average of 6 million customers per year patronizing the existing 67 shops as well as hypermarket, Tesco and multiplex cinema, Cinestar.

Current tenants, New Yorker and Intersport have indicated they will take advantage of the mall's extension to significantly expand their sales areas, while leading retailers including H&M, Kappahl, Lindex, Springfield, s.Oliver, Takko, Adidas, Nike, Alpine Pro and others have signed the future lease contracts.

Construction of the expansion will be managed by TK Development, built by general contractor, Gemo Olomouc, and designed by architecture firm, KRR Architektura.
