Demand for outlet retail space across Europe increasing (EUR)

GVA Outlets leasing team is working hard to keep up with the demand for Outlet retail space across their European sites as more and more brands expand or introduce an Outlet strategy to ensure brand control and maximize sales.

David Carver, Head of Leasing, GVA Outlets explains: "At a time when we see the high street and general retail market slowing down, the Outlet sector is booming. Due to this more and more brands are either expanding their Outlet offer to cover new and emerging marketplaces or introducing an Outlet offer to work effectively while protecting the brand image and controlling the value of their products.

"This is continued proof that during the difficult recession hitting Europe the Outlet sector is still healthy and offers brands a very important and profitable route to market. Established Outlet brands are seeking new locations and new brands and manufacturers are looking to come into the sector to secure a more profitable route for the disposal of surplus stock or previous season's merchandise. We have ever increasing levels of interest for brands and there are many other manufacturers and brands that could really benefit by looking at the Outlet sector, especially in the current climate."

New deals recently signed across GVA Outlets include:

Wittchen, a high quality polish leatherwear and accessories brand, who have signed up Fashion Arena Prague taking a 171 sq m unit due to open as part of the Phase 2 development opening late 2010. This is Wittchen's first Outlet store outside of Poland.
