The Dutch Council on Tall Buildings has selected the 151 meter office building De Delftse Poort in Rotterdam as the best skyscraper in the Netherlands. The prize is being awarded in connection with the 20 years existence of the council.
The top 20 of best skyscrapers in the Netherlands has been composed by the Dutch tall building professionals. Delftse Poort, better known as the Nationale Nederlanden building, was delivered in 1991 and is appreciated for its tight design and specific construction on top of an underground tube.
In second place is the 135 meter Rembrandt Tower in Amsterdam. The third place winner is the Fortis Bank in Rotterdam (106 meter). In the Netherlands over 100 buildings surpass 65 meter. Until May 22nd there is an exposition about the top 20 Dutch skyscrapers in the City Information Centre Rotterdam.
