Decline in number of private investors continues

The Centrum voor Marketing Analyses undertook her annual research amongst private investors during Spring 2002. Some 1,000 investing households, investing in bonds, shares, investment funds, derivatives or share-lease constructions, have been questioned.

What follows are some of the reults:

The number of huoseholds which invest have declined from 1.79 million in 2001 to 1.67 million as per today. This is the second consecutive annual decline of 7%. In 2000, during the introduction of WorldOnline on the stock exchange, some 1.9 million households were actively inveting.

The net influx of new investors amounts to 3%, the lowest growth figure we have monitored since 1997. This could indicate that investing has lost its attraction.
