David Rückel joins Catella Real Estate AG Kapitalanlagegesellschaft as Head of Institutional Business to expand client relations and product development with institutional investors and support the growth of timberland and international real estate investments.
The Munich-based Catella Real Estate AG Kapitalanlagegesellschaft, an investment manager specializing in real estate and timberland, is expanding its client relations team and strengthening its timberland and international fund activities.
As of October 2012, Rückel will advise institutional investors and assume responsibilities which currently lie with Alexandra Boos, who is going on maternity leave. Furthermore, he will support product development in the ideation and structuring of timberland and international real estate funds.
Rückel can look back on many years of experience working with institutional clients. In his most recent position he was heading up product development as Managing Director with Wells Real Asset Management GmbH. He was instrumental in building up an institutional client network focusing on insurance companies, occupational pension schemes and corporate pension funds.
With his time with Wells, Rückel was an early mover introducing the asset class timberland to institutional clients in the German speaking countries and active developing and placing a US real estate fund. Prior to that, Rückel held leading positions in real estate analysis and financing as Head of Real Estate at OneBridgehouse and as Assistant to the CEO with Oppenheimer of North America.
He holds a B.A. in International Affairs, with a focus on international economics, from the George Washington University, Washington, D.C. and an Executive Real Estate Master with the University of Regensburg, Germany (IREBS).
