Cushman & Wakefield Hospitality opens Italian operations (IT)

Cushman & Wakefield Hospitality strengthens its leadership in the real estate market by announcing the opening of its Italian hospitality division, with a team of three professionals dedicated to the hotel and leisure sectors based in its Milan office.

C&W Hospitality has appointed Marco Zalamena as director and head of operations in Italy. He joins the team from Deloitte Italy where, as a partner of the company, he was head of the Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure Team.

Marco Zalamena was born in 1965 and has a degree in economics. He has over 15 years of experience in consulting having worked at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte Italy. For the last ten years he has worked in collaboration with the most important investors and real estate players in the hospitality sector. His practice embraces strategic consultancy and advisory, valuation of special projects, strategic and business planning, feasibility, and market studies for hotel and mixed-use developments. His team has become known as a specialist in the hotel and leisure sectors, recognised at a national level.

The new team also comprises two other professionals, who join with Marco from Deloitte Italy. Francesco Calia, born in 1973, has a degree in economics and over eight years of experience in consultancy in the hotel and leisure sectors. Antonino Petriglieri, born in 1978, has a degree in economics and over four years practical experience in the sectors.

C&W Hospitality approach the market with proven experience and knowledge of the marketplace built on work done for some of the most important national and international players in the hotel and leisure sectors.

Marco's team completes the consultancy services offered by C&W Italy and bolsters the European hospitality team that has over thirty professionals based in the London, Budapest, Istanbul, Lisbon, Madrid and Prague offices.

Harry Farthing, Managing Director Cushman & Wakefield Italy, states: "We are proud to welcome Marco Zalamena, Francesco Calia and Antonino Petriglieri to Cushman & Wakefield Italy. Their arrival, close to Massimo Tarabusi's appointment as head of the Residential division, make us the only privately held real estate services firm in Italy delivering a complete range of consultancy services in every sector and through every stage of the real estate process."

Nick Pattie, Managing Director Cushman & Wakefield Hospitality, says: "The opening of C&W Hospitality Italy reflects our ever-expanding team of specialists across the EMEA. New offices in Russia and the Middle East will be added this year to complete the initial phase of our regional coverage, ensuring our clients' growing cross-border investment strategies are fully represented."

"The hospitality sector is a strategically important area for the firm and it is committed to developing the business to become the leading player within the next five years. These appointments position Cushman & Wakefield Hospitality at the forefront of hotel consultancy and agency throughout EMEA," concludes Nick Pattie.
