Crowds at Aupark in Piesťany surpassed even the most optimistic expectations (SK)

The opening of the second Aupark shopping and entertainment center in Slovakia in the spa town of Piesany was greeted with great enthusiasm from the town's inhabitants as well as visitors.

"Attendance at the public opening on 29 April 2010 numbered almost 30,000 visitors," said Mária Juritková, Aupark spokeswoman. "Besides visitors from Piešťany, the new center also attracted people from the vicinity and schoolchildren. The center has something to offer visitors of any age."

Aupark in Piesťany organized an entertainment show throughout Friday and the weekend, not only inside the shopping center but also on Námestie slobody (square) where Martin Chodúr sang on Saturday evening. There were also some fashion shows, competitions, events for children, and a firework display.

The shopping center on 10,000 m² of leasable space has more than 60 premises, with 380 parking spaces in the car park.

Some of the most distinguished lessees are Billa supermarket, 101 drogerie, and Panta Rhei book store, but also include other popular stores such as Exisport, New Yorker, Killtec, Orsay, Takko, Nike, Adidas, Ševt, Robel shoes, Datart, Alltoys, Satur, and Siloe. Visitors can also find a Tatra banka branch, and fast food outlets such as Pizza Mizza, Papa Chicken, Dobrá bašta,and Sunshine restaurant.
