Credit Suisse Expands Private Banking Offering in Russia (RU/CH)

Credit Suisse has announced that it has expanded its private banking services to international securities brokerage for private individuals in Russia. Credit Suisse is one of the first international banks to offer onshore private banking services in Russia. This expansion of its services underlines its commitment to the Russian market.

Michael Vlahovic, Market Group Head of Private Banking Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia said, "After having launched onshore private banking services with a domestic product offering, we are very pleased to launch our international securities brokerage business. This will substantially strengthen our ability to service Russian clients in terms of international research, market access, sales and execution."

Alexis Rodzianko, Head of Private Banking Moscow, said: "Credit Suisse has first-rate expertise to help domestic and international clients navigate an ever more challenging investment environment. We have brought together one of the most experienced and capable teams of professionals in the market, and will continue to expand in a prudent manner to include mutual funds and structured products."

Credit Suisse has been expanding its footprint in the region and increasing its understanding of the market since the mid-1970s and has been one of the leading investment banks in Russia since this time. Credit Suisse expanded its private banking presence in the Russian market with the opening of its representative offices in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Most recently, Credit Suisse launched its onshore private banking operations in Moscow in September 2006.
