Corio closes contract for the first Primark in France (FR)

Corio has signed a contract with Primark to open a 7,500 m² flagship store in Grand Littoral in Marseille. The Primark store will anchor the redeveloped ‘Zone Azur’ part of the shopping center.


Gerard Groener, CEO: ‘We are delighted that Primark has chosen Grand Littoral for its first store in France. The store is located in the Zone Azur redevelopment which is the first phase in a larger scheme that will maintain Grand Littoral’s position as dominant mall in the region. With this signature the Zone Azur redevelopment is 81% let and is expected to be fully let soon. Communication about opening will be done at a later stage.’ The signature of Primark follows a flow of strong leasing activity and openings in the past few months among which: Apple in Porta di Roma (September, third Apple store in the portfolio), Zara Flagship in Hoog Catharijne in Utrecht (December), Primark in Almere (December), H&M in La Loma in Jaén, Spain (May), Pull & Bear in Boulevard Berlin (May), River Island in Alexandrium in Rotterdam (May), Starbucks in Hoog Catharijne in Utrecht (May) or Swarovski in Mondeville 2 in Caen (May).


Grand Littoral in Marseille

The Grand Littoral shopping center, the fourth largest shopping center in France with total GLA of 110,000 m² is located in the 16th arrondissement, north of Marseille along the A7 highway between Marignane airport and the Marseille town center. The center dominates its surrounding area and benefits from an excellent visibility from the highways, especially coming from the town center. The primary catchment area is estimated at 600,000 people, in a larger influence zone of 1.6 million people. The population in the nearby region will continue to grow due to ongoing urbanization. Grand Littoral currently attracts 12 million visitors per year resulting in sales over € 390 million.
