CoreNet Global's Benelux Chapter announces Student Award winner (BE)

CoreNet Global's Benelux Chapter has announced the result of their 2011 Student Award competition, with Lars Dinnissen of Arcadis named as the winner for his submission 'Sustainable Entrepreneurship for Real Estate Occupiers'.

Dinnissen's thesis was selected from among many outstanding submissions which were professionally judged against criteria such as quality, innovation and practical application for corporate real estate end users.

Developed as part of Dinnissen's Master of Real Estate (MCR), the paper researches the relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability ambitions and the real estate challenges faced within organizations, developing a practical decision support model to embody it. The paper also includes recommendations on how to implement a sustainability policy swiftly and effectively in real estate strategy.

Judged to provide a special and innovative contribution to the development of Corporate Real Estate management, Dinnissen has given permission for his thesis to be published on the CoreNet Global Benelux website (http://benelux.corenetglobal.org).

The Award was presented during The Benelux Chapter's busy new-year event, which took place at the Havenbedrijf Rotterdam. During this meeting, Henk de Bruijn, manager corporate strategy of the Havenbedrijf, shared the ambitions and development program of the Harbour company up to the year 2030.

Kees Rezelman, board member of CoreNet Global Benelux, then provided a review of all Benelux activities in 2011 and Chair Monique Arkesteijn elaborated on the scheduled Chapter events in 2012.

The main focus of the Benelux Chapter board in 2012 is expansion of the member base, particularly in the number of end-users. There is also an obvious growing interest in CoreNet Global from within care and educational organizations, authorities and other socially relevant real estate users.

CoreNet Global Benelux annually organizes eight events highlighting current topics applicable to occupiers/end-users of real estate. As the global networking and knowledge sharing organization for real estate professionals, CoreNet Global's visibility is ever increasing. Along with Neprom and IVBN, for example, CoreNet Global is increasingly a partner in important real estate debates in the Benelux region.
