Construction volume will drop with 2.5% during 2002

It is expected that construction volume in 2002 will drop with 2.5% to € 42.3 bln. Not only the worsening economic conditions but also the laborious procedures on the housing market contributes to this decline. After 2002 it is expected that a recovery will take place and annual production will increase by an average of 1.5%.

These conclusions stem form the Economic Institute for the Construction Industry’s report ‘Verwachtingen bouwproductie en werkgelegenheid in 2002’ (‘Expectations construction volume and employment in 2002’).
