Construction to start on Marmara Park Istanbul at the beginning of 2011 (TR)

ECE Türkiye will start the construction of the Marmara Park shopping center in the beginning of 2011 on a plot at the E-5 highway, one of the busiest highways in Istanbul.

Marmara Park will have a GLA of approx. 100,000 m² and around 4,000 parking spaces.



The company presented now the plan of a unique concept: the shopping center will be completely designed in a galaxy-theme. Space-related lighting, planet models and a theme park for visitors form the individual identity of the shopping center.

Andreas Hohlmann, the General Manager of ECE Türkiye: "This project will set a new benchmark for shopping and entertainment not only in Turkey but in all of Europe.

"ECE is introducing a spectacular and individual style for a shopping center. We will design public areas, such as places for recreation and leisure, as well as the rotundas with space-related objects and lighting."

Marmara Park, which will be build in Istanbul's Beylikdüzü/Esenyurt region, will have a gross leasable area of approx. 100,000 m² and around 4,000 parking spaces. More than 250 shops will offer a unique richness of products and services to the customers.

The branch and tenant mix will include well-known international brands and popular Turkish labels, a huge hypermarket, a DIY-store, a very large consumer electronics store, a cinema and an entertainment park. The grand opening is scheduled for autumn 2012. The total investment volume for Marmara Park is around €220 million.

The planned location for the shopping center is one of the fastest-growing districts in western Istanbul. There are huge residential projects in the development and construction phase in the district. More than 4 million people live within the catchment area of Marmara Park. The location is well-known and perfectly connected to Istanbul's highway system. The population tendencies for Marmara Park's catchment area are predictated to increase even further as developments in the area continue.
