The space is comprised of 4,100 m² on the first two upper floors which have already been leased for the long term to Vattenfall Energy Trading. This corresponds to almost 30% of the office space. The energy trading firm is due to move in by September 2011. The two sublevels will be used by the Metropolis Kino (cinema) to provide a new venue on some 860 m². Plans include the reintegration of its currently relocated historic auditorium.

On a plot of land spanning some 2,400 m² in prime location at Dammtorstrasse 29-32, the new complex will have seven standard and two set-back floors. The first floor will be used as retail and catering space. Office space will be available from the second floor. In addition to the traditional Metropolis Kino, the three sublevels will house storage and archive areas and parking facilities for almost 60 vehicles.

"The special location and the quality of the building have convinced us. Metropolis Haus provides optimal conditions for our spacious trading floor," Jochen Winter, Managing Director of Vattenfall Energy Trading, says in explanation of the decision of the company to rent space in the Metropolis Haus.
