Coca-Cola in sale and lease back in Hasselt (BE)

Cocal-Cola Enterprises Belgium has carried out a sale and lease-back of its distribution center in Hasselt.
Coca-Cola was owner for 40 years of an industrial building of 20.000 m² with 1.500 m² of offices on a site of 4 hectares, located along the Albert Canal in the Sasstraat in Hasselt. A bottling plant was located in this building before. This activity was stopped several years ago, leaving only the local distribution and events department. With the changing needs, part of the site had already been leased to tenants including Carglass and Rexel.
Coca-Cola is now selling the entire site and then leases back half of the site. The buyer is MC Capital, a private investor and real estate developer, who develops amongst others the new office park "De Alverberg" in Hasselt. In this transaction, Knight Frank acted for the seller and CBRE for the buyer.
