CBRE Romania to handle the conversion of the Starlight Suites hotel Bucharest into an office building (RO)

CBRE Romania, the local subsidiary of the leading global real estate service provider, has been appointed as Project & Cost Manager for the conversion into an office building of the Starlight Suites hotel, located in the Metropolis center, in Bucharest.

“Choosing CBRE Romania as Project & Cost Manager for the conversion of the Starlight Suites hotel is a new proof of the wide expertise and range of services we offer. An important role in this process is played by Gabriel Balaban, Head of Project Management CBRE Romania, due to his broad experience in managing both new building projects developments and fit-out works, for many tenants such as Hewlett Packard, EBRD, Unilever, GlaxoSmithKline and ING Bank. We are glad to be involved in such a complex project from its very first stage - the coordination of the concept design,” declared Razvan Iorgu, Managing Director CBRE Romania.

The conversion process involves the replacement and reconfiguration of the air conditioning and ventilation systems, as well as of the electrical and plumbing installations. Moreover, the building will benefit from new security and fire prevention systems. All these new features will transform the space into one of the most modern office buildings available on the Bucharest market.

"Due to its excellent positioning and high quality standards, and also to its structure, so special for an office building, as it has balconies on each floor and terraces on the upper floors, the new office space benefits from all the advantages to become one of the main destinations for companies wishing to operate in a central area," added Razvan Iorgu.

After the conversion process is completed in November this year, there will be a 4,500 square meters leasable area, distributed on 6 floors plus mezzanine. The facilities that future tenants will enjoy include a gym and a sauna, while on the ground floor a coffee shop will be opened.
