CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc. announces that it has opened an office in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. The country is one of Eastern Europe's fastest growing economies and the huge potential for expansion of its real estate market makes it attractive for CB Richard Ellis' international clients.
The new office will be headed up by Sergiy Sergiyenko and Radomyr Tsurkan, both of whom join CB Richard Ellis with backgrounds in real estate services and development. Mr. Sergiyenko was Managing Director of Colliers in Kiev for over five years. He then worked for Apollo-Rida in Ukraine and, most recently, for Akron Group. Mr. Tsurkan led Colliers' office agency department for several years, working with Mr. Sergiyenko, before joining one of Ukraine's leading local land developers, HCM.
CB Richard Ellis expects to see rapid growth in Ukraine, Europe's second largest country. Its accession this month to the World Trade Organisation, combined with its strategic position within Europe, large size and enormous potential for development makes it a significant investment opportunity for both foreign and local property investors and developers.
The move into Ukraine further strengthens CB Richard Ellis' platform in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and follows its acquisition this month of Eurisko Consulting in Romania. In 2006, CB Richard Ellis acquired the Russian market leader, Noble Gibbons. The new Kiev office will work in close partnership with CB Richard Ellis' operations in Russia and across CEE.
