Affori Centre is a 12,000-m² office complex located in the northwest area of Milan. It is composed of three interconnected buildings.

In 2009, Affori Centre received the LEED SILVER pre-certification during the construction phase that was completed in July 2010.

"The green building movement offers an unprecedented opportunity to respond to the most-important challenges of our time, including global climate change, dependence on non-sustainable and expensive sources of energy and threats to human health," said Rick Fedrizzi, President, CEO & Founding Chair, US Green Building Council.

"The work of innovative building projects such as Affori Centre is a fundamental driving force in the green building movement."

A large set of innovative features have been implemented in the project to improve energy savings, reduce greenhouse gas emissions of the building and privilege the well-being of occupants. These best-in-class solutions include sun shades, external brise-soleil, low energy lighting, low emitting materials and efficient ventilation systems.

Moreover, for a sustainable use of the complex, a number of green features that positively impact the operations of the building have been implemented, including a real-time measurement of energy consumptions and a shared environmental approach between the tenants and the owner.

"Affori Centre is the first office building receiving the LEED GOLD Certification in Milan," declared Luca Pellegrini, Associate with CBRE Investors. "We are very proud of this achievement as we are committed to offering a vibrant, comfortable and green working environment to our tenants."

The LEED Gold Certification is the result of the implementation of numerous environmentally-friendly solutions that have been carried out by CBRE Investors, Buro Happold (LEED Advisor), Goring and Straja Architects, BRE Engineering and Constructors.

Affori Centre is owned by CB Richard Ellis Strategic Partners Europe Fund II, a pan-European investment fund managed by CBRE Investors.
