Catalonia Hotels & Resorts takes over a hotel in Amsterdam (NL)

Catalonia Hotels & Resorts confirms its expansion policy across European cities, taking over the Hotel Vondel in Amsterdam, a 4-star unique boutique establishment with 83 rooms. The hotel is set in the historic heart of Amsterdam and comprises seven listed buildings in the typical 18th-century Dutch style, beside Vondelpark and Leidseplein Square, one of the city's premier leisure and shopping zones and very close to the Dutch capital’s three great museums. The hotel venue will feature the JOOST restaurant, buffet breakfast zone, meeting room, hall and cocktail bar and an internet corner.

At the European level, it joins the Catalonia hotels in Brussels and Berlin and the future openings in Porto, Milan and Budapest.
In Spain, the hotel group plans to shortly open establishments in San Sebastian, Bilbao and Malaga, in addition to expanding the Seville-based Catalonia Santa Justa and the Catalonia Mirador des Port in Menorca. It will also open a new upscale 5* resort in the Riviera Maya at the end of the year, set on stunning Costa Mujeres beach.

Both the hotel in Amsterdam and the six new openings share common features, being 4-star superior city hotels in privileged and central areas of strategic cities with high-performance KPI’s.

These new openings demonstrate our determination to continue to grow with a clear strategy focus on quality over quantity,” said Catalonia executive vice-president Guillermo Vallet Millet.

Catalonia Hotels & Resorts development director, Federico Holzmann said, “This operation is a further step in our expansion in Europe, where we continue to look for opportunities. Catalonia remains actively engaged in seeking business opportunities at home and abroad, focusing on establishments located in the downtown areas of strategic cities. Catalonia is characterised by its solid business base, excellent outcomes and ability to grow both in buyouts and management or rental projects”.
