The Morgan Stanley-led consortium that looks likely to win the battle for Canary Wharf Group plc today confirmed that Derek Bonham will become Chairman of the Docklands site if the consortium´s bid is successful.
Songbird Acquisition Ltd, a consortium led by Morgan Stanley and Simon Glick, last Friday raised its offer for Canary Wharf to 295 pence a share.
Bonham, chairman of Imperial Tobacco PLC, will become chairman of Songbird´s parent company, Songbird Estates PLC.
His appointment as independent director will be subject to shareholder approval.
