Bouwinvest grows its retail portfolio with Tilburg deal (NL)

The Bouwinvest Retail Fund has acquired two retail units on the Heuvelstraat, the popular shopping district of Tilburg, 100 km south of Amsterdam, from Dutch listed property investor Wereldhave. Tilburg is the sixth largest Dutch city by population and the Heuvelstraat is its main shopping street. The units at Heuvelstraat 24 (1,200m²) and 36-38 (180m²), will be rented by retailers HEMA and Manfield. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Collin Boelhouwer, Director of Dutch Retail Investments at Bouwinvest, said: "This acquisition is a good fit for the Retail Fund’s ‘Experience’ strategy of targeting the top 15 largest retail markets, and the busiest shopping streets within those cities, in the Netherlands. These investments have helped the fund to structurally outperform the market benchmark over the past five years.”
