Bilfinger Berger wins large contracts worth a total of €170 million (DE)

The German constructor Bilfinger Berger has won new building construction contracts in Germany worth a total of €170 million.

On Alexanderplatz in Berlin, a department store operated by Kaufhof Warenhaus AG will be thoroughly remodeled, renovated and expanded under a turnkey agreement that allows the store´s continued operation. The €60 million contract was awarded by Metro Asset Management GmbH.

In Frankfurt, meanwhile, Bilfinger Berger will be the general contractor for construction of the 14-story Main Triangel office complex, under a contract from Bouygues Immobilien GmbH and Aareal Bank AG worth €50 million.

In another project in the German financial capital, Bilfinger Berger is the lead manager for construction of the first phase of the FrankfurtHochVier services center, which involves excavation as well as the building of retaining walls, foundations and, initially, five underground floors. Bilfinger Berger´s share of the €73 million project, on behalf of client MAB/BPF Forum Zeil Frankfurt GmbH and Co. KG, is €30 million.

In Cologne, Bilfinger Berger has started work on a six-storey office center on Konrad-Adenauer-Ufer, a thoroughfare running along the Rhine River. The 125-meter-long, 35-meter-wide structure will incorporate historically significant sections from older buildings on the site. The new complex will be completed on a turnkey basis for Vivico Real Estate GmbH for €30 million.

The building construction market in Germany remains under pressure from sinking demand, but careful project selection and close relationships with clients have continued to ensure Bilfinger Berger´s economic success. Moreover, close cooperation between the building construction units and the Group´s broad range of services and operating activities offers excellent cross-selling potential, which will be fully and systematically exploited across the entire value-creation chain
