The Supervisory Board of SNS REAAL N.V. announces that Mr Bas Kortmann (60) will retire from the Supervisory Board on the date of the first coming extraordinary general meeting of shareholders, that soon will be announced.
Mr Kortmann has been a member of the Supervisory Board of SNS REAAL since 1990. In addition to his position at SNS REAAL, Mr Kortmann is Rector Magnificus of the Radboud University Nijmegen, where he is also a Professor of Civil Law. He further chairs the executive committee of the Grotius Academy Foundation, is a deputy judge at the Arnhem Court of Appeal and a member of several other supervisory boards.
Mr Kortmann will also retire as Supervisory Board member at SNS Bank N.V., REAAL Verzekeringen N.V. and SRLEV N.V. on the same date. Mr Kortmann will continue his membership of the executive committees of Stichting Beheer SNS REAAL and Stichting SNS REAAL Fonds.
On July 12, 2010, the Supervisory Board announced its intention to submit the nomination of Piero Overmars for appointment as a member to the Supervisory Board.
