AXA Real Estate appoints Regional Head of Property Services Group and Local Head of Germany (DE)

AXA Real Estate Investment Managers is pleased to announce that it has appointed Matthias Leube as Regional Head of Property Services Group and AXA Real Estate's Local Head of Germany.

Based in Cologne, and reporting to Anne Kavanagh, AXA Real Estate's Global Head of Property Services Group, Leube will be responsible for all acquisitions, disposals, asset management and development activity in Germany. Additionally, as AXA Real Estate's Local Head of Germany, he will ensure the successful implementation of client and product strategies, as well as support the development and growth of the business. He will become a member of AXA Real Estate's Executive Committee.

With over 18 years in the real estate industry, Leube has extensive pan-European experience in strategic portfolio management. He joins after seven years at Deutsche Bank, where he was Managing Director responsible for its real estate portfolio across EMEA. Between 1992 and 2003 he worked at Jones Lang LaSalle, latterly as a European Director. Leube holds an Economics and Real Estate degree from the European Business School and is a qualified Chartered Surveyor.

Germany is AXA Real Estate's third biggest market, with a portfolio of properties totaling €5.4 billion, representing more than 13% of its total assets. This includes properties across the office, retail, industrial and residential sectors.

Anne Kavanagh, AXA Real Estate's Global Head of Property Services Group, said: "Having completed circa €270 million of transactions in Germany in 2010, with a higher level expected this year, it is a key territory for AXA Real Estate. Matthias' sound experience and understanding of the German market, and its context within Europe, will ensure that we continue both to grow our presence in the region and expertly manage our existing portfolio. I welcome Matthias to the company and look forward to working closely with him in delivering our strategy in the region."
