Aviva Investors to deliver logistics warehouse in the Netherlands

Aviva Investors has started the speculative development of a logistics warehouse in the north of Rotterdam on behalf of one of its clients, which it expects to be completed in the second quarter of 2021. Designed by Heembouw Architecten and located in the Business Park Oudeland – Berkel en Rodenrijs, the warehouse covers approximately 20,300m² of lettable space and benefits from connectivity to local and international distribution hubs, including nearby Rotterdam airport and harbour. It will aim to achieve a BREEAM Very Good rating upon completion.

Adrien Beuriot, Head of Asset Management, Continental Europe, at Aviva Investors, commented: “We are delighted to be developing this asset which grows our portfolio under management in the Randstad region, one of Europe’s most established logistics hubs. We are confident this particular space will perform well in our overall portfolio given its location, which will be further strengthened when the proposed extension to the A16 motorway is completed in 2025, increasing its connectivity and enhancing its value.”

Rolf Verdel, Investor Relations Manager at Heembouw, added: “As a turnkey contractor with in-house architects, Heembouw can serve an investor like Aviva Investors from start to finish. Thanks to our knowledge of available building areas and the high-quality design from Heembouw Architecten, Heembouw has, in close cooperation with the team of Aviva Investors, turned this investment opportunity into a beautiful project."
